Relay For Life 2010 is coming to Whitewood May 28. The date was set recently by a committee of volunteers from the Whitewood who are preparing for the event as a means of raising money for cancer research.
Peggy Hennig of the Canadian Cancer Society is helping the Whitewood group get its plans off the ground as they begin organizing the event.
Hennig is the Events Manager of the Saskatchewan division of the Canadian Cancer Society.
Chairperson of the event is Lisa Istace who will guide the group of approximately twenty committee members during the next several months.
Assisting her as Co-Chair is Pam Wolf. Other volunteers are tackling such things as logistics, accounting, team registration, food and more and says Istace, teams can start registering right now if they wish.
Jenn Adams and Sheila Rogers will be handling team registrations and can be reached at jenn_1303@hotmail .com or corsherogers@ yahoo.ca.
Adams can also be reached by calling 735-4370 or Rogers at 735-2325.
"For those wishing to purchase a luminary," Istace says, "that can also be done now by stopping in or calling Conexus Credit Union in Whitewood." For those wishing to call after hours, Istace says luminaries can be purchased by calling her at 735-4110. She can also be reached by email at email@example.com.
