Premier Brad Wall met with the Lieutenant-Governor on Monday Oct. 4, to request the dissolution of the Legislature and to issue the writ of election.
The request was the official mark to the campaign start for the Nov. 7 provincial election.
“We have a lot to be thankful for in Saskatchewan. We have a strong and growing economy, and Saskatchewan people are enjoying the benefits of that growth,” Premier Wall said in a release.
“Still, there is more work to be done. In the next few weeks, we will be talking about our government’s record over the past four years and our plan to keep moving Saskatchewan forward.”
MLA Don Toth was nominated in June and will seek another term in the Moosomin constituency. He says he’s looking forward to his candidacy and the upcoming election.
Toth, first elected in 1986, says issues of significance in the Moosomin constituency reflect those across the province.
“Every community has seen significant growth,” he said, alluding to the importance of childcare, healthcare and the delivery of services in the upcoming campaign.
The goal is to move forward, he said, and the people of Saskatchewan can propel the province by casting their ballots and finding their voice.
“I think it’s important for people to recognize the right that they have. It’s a real privilege to be able to cast your ballot and vote for the candidate or the party of your choice.”
“It’s a privilege and an honour to vote.”
