The Grenfell Fire Department has invested in a new Garmin GPS system to help ensure they can get to the scene of a fire as quickly as possible.
The department also purchased a seperate R.M. Chip, to enable them to load up maps for all of the rural municipalities in the area.
This means that they need only enter the land location and the Garmin will do the rest.
Garmin also offers a wide variety of maps available for purchase, including detailed road maps, topographic maps and nautical maps. Non-commercial maps are also available and can be displayed on most Garmin GPS devices.
