Broadview 4-H Club held their Public Speaking Night on Tuesday, March 10 at the School Library, with 12 members participating. Cloverbud Kellsie Brown won first place with her speech titled "My Cat Whiskers." First place in the Junior 1 Category was Hunter Freed who spoke about Tigers. Second place was Victoria Brown, and third place was Bryce Bangsund and Luke Wyatt (tied).
In the Junior 2 category, the winner was Adam Wyatt with a speech entitled Roller Coasters. Margo Bangsund placed second followed by Kursten Carrell and Brendan Schindler, tied for third.
Paige Wyatt was the only participant in the Intermediate category. Her speech was entitled Walt Disney World.
Broadview 4-H Club hosted District 6 Public Speaking on Sunday March 15. Broadview 4-H Club was represented by Paige Wyatt, who tied for second place in the intermediate speeches, Adam Wyatt, junior, third place, and Kellsie Brown, Cloverbud, third place. Other clubs participating were McLean, Qu'Appelle, and Corning. The master and mistress of ceremonies were Brady Richter and Margo Bangsund.
Executive of the Broadview 4-H Club for 2008/9 are Brady Richter, president, Luke Wyatt, vice-president, Bryce Bangsund, secretary, Evan Richter, treasurer, and Victoria Brown, reporter.
Projects this year include Outdoor Adventure, with members Luke Wyatt, Terry Rienks, Kellsie Brown and Victoria Brown. Project leader is Mr. Kurt Schindler. A Small Engines Project is being lead by Mrs. Tracey Richter. Project members are Adam Wyatt, Brady Richter, Evan Richter, Bryce Bangsund, Brendan Schindler and Darcy Bugg. Foods 1 members are Margo Bangsund, Hunter Freed and Kursten Carrell, and the leader is Mrs. Doris Wyatt. Paige Wyatt is taking Clothing 2, with leader Mrs. Wyatt.
