Hofmeisters meet great-granddaughter

There were six tables in play at the monthly cribbage tournament at the Drop-In Centre on November 13, 2009. Ken Ogden and Shirley Nurse took home 1st prize while Morris Pollock and Florence Lambsdown came 2nd and Ken and Shirley Fowler placese 3rd.
Dale and Miriam Hofmeister spent November 10 - 14, 2009 in Stathmore, Alta., where they met their new great granddaughter, Malaya Hope Stordy. Grandpa, Dave Scheirer, Prince albert, drove the Hofmeisters, and his parents, from Lemberg, to Strathmore. Grandma, Sharon Scheirer, who has been at Strathmore for some time, came home with them.
Dale and Sheaunid Wiggins attended the funeral for her dad's cousin, Bill Beattie, at Broadview, on November 14, 2009. They were accompanied by Gordon and Dorothy Johnston. The Beattie family lived at Fillmore many years ago, on the farm now occupied by Deana and Jeff Keller, and moved to Broadview in 1938.
Shirl and Ole Carlberg celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on November 14 (actual date was October 22), with a family supper in the town hall, followed by a social evening. Their five daughters - Heather Carlberg and Lorne Kelsey, Saskatoon; Terry Batke, Regina; Diana and Gary Irwin, Goodwater; Cathy and Gheslain Chartier; and Melanie Carlberg and Trevor McKee, from Regina, and their families were all able to attend, with the exception of Cory Carlberg and family from North Dakota. Grandson, Cordelle Carlberg, had just returned from New Zealand. Relatives from Alta. and Manitoba also attended.
Elaine Driver's mother, Vi Benn, has moved from her home in Swift Current to reside in one of the housing authority homes on McCulloch St.
